Balancing between tension and compression, the Stretto chair is meant to resemble a harmonious exchange. The backrest and seat were inspired by the aesthetics of stretched fabric, offering both support and comfort to the body. The tension occurring in the bent surfaces is balanced with compression in a straight layer of plywood on the backrest and in two beams bellow the seat. Made of ash, the design has a long-lasting solid frame, and showcases the dense grain stripes of the timber on its thin plywood surfaces.
